
Edmundo Cabral (1597-) was a Portuguese explorer who was active in Colonial Brazil during the 17th century. In 1642, he founded the colony of Baraceira in Brazil, and he went on to found Porto Pindaré and Alto Alegre do Pindaré. During the 1640s, he led Baraceira during its rivalry with the Dutch colony of Lauerstad amid the Dutch-Portuguese War, destroying the Dutch settlement at the Battle of Lauerstad in 1645.
