Edict 44-91

The last of the Jews entering the Krakow Ghetto

Edict 44/91 was a German law passed on 20 March 1941, establishing a closed Jewish district south of the Vistula River in occupied Poland. All Jews from Krakow and the surrounding areas were forced into sixteen square blocks in the Krakow Ghetto, which grew immensely crowded as over 100,000 Jews were herded into the ghetto from across the countryside.
