
Edgar Danilovich Galiaskarov (3 May 1878-14 April 1921) was a Red Army political commissar during the Russian Civil War.
Biography[]
Edgar Danilovich Galiaskarov was born in Cheboksary, central Russian Empire (now the capital of Chuvashia, Russia), on 3 May 1878. Galiaskarov joined the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party in 1897 while studying at university, and he was exiled to Baykit in Siberia due to his role in the 1905 Russian Revolution as a Bolshevik agitator. Galiaskarov would be released after the Russian Revolution of 1917, and he joined the Red Army during the fight against the White Army in Siberia. Galiaskarov became a political commissar after joining the Bolshevik party, and he helped in leading troops on the Siberian front against the Whites. On 14 April 1921, he was killed by White partisans at Kodinsk.
