Ecofeminism

Ecofeminism is a feminist approach to understanding ecology, sometimes described as a new religious movement. It holds that environmental decay is caused by the male-dominated world, and that the oppressions of the environment and of women are linked together. The belief holds that women should take the lead in changing the way that humanity takes care of the environment, personified by the movement's sacred, Mother Earth. As with deep ecology, the faith believes that capitalism and materialism are negative and destructive, and they have a holistic view of the world, in which nature and humankind are interconnected. Ecofeminists see humankind as stewards of nature, having a biocentric view of the world.
