East Asia is a region of Asia located in the Far East. East Asia is made up of China (including Macau and Hong Kong), Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, and South Korea, and its cultures have interacted several times, with China being the most influential due to its invention of the East Asian writing style and its introduction of Confucianism (including its civil service exams), tea, and paper money to other countries. Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shamanism can be found in almost all of the countries, with Shinto being exclusive to Japan, Juche exclusive to North Korea, Taoism being exclusive to China, and Christianity being seen mostly in Hong Kong and Macau.
