Earnningstone

Earnningstone was an Anglo-Saxon village located in present-day Cambridgeshire, England during the Middle Ages. In 873 AD, unlike most of the shire, Earnningstone supported Ealdorman Wigmund's uprising against the Danes of Cambridge (Grantebru), leading to Jarlskona Soma dispatching her lieutenants Galinn and Eivor to raze the village. Galinn and Eivor ordered that no building be left standing, and they set fire to the thatch roofs and displaced all of the village's residents.
