Earl Thurcytel of Wiltshire (born 839) was the earl of Wiltshire.
Biography[]
Earl Thurcytel of Wiltshire was born in 839, and was from the House of Waverley. Thurcytel married Eadburg, and when he became Earl of Wiltshire, she became countess. Thurcytel was a vassal of Wessex, and he reigned from Wilton, Wiltshire. He had to fight against the Great Heathen Army, an army of Danes led by Halfdan Whiteshirt of Jorvik.
