
Earl Blumenauer (born 16 August 1948) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-OR 3) from 21 May 1996 to 3 January 2025, succeeding Ron Wyden and preceding Maxine Dexter.
Biography[]
Earl Blumenauer was born in Portland, Oregon in 1948, and he worked as an assistant to the president of Portland State University before serving in the State House of Representatives from 1973 to 1979 and on the Portland City Commission from 1987 to 1996. In 1996, he was elected to the US House of Representatives, and he angered progressives by supporting free trade policies.
