Dwight Loomis

Dwight Loomis (27 July 1821 – 17 September 1903) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-CN 1) from 4 March 1859 to 4 March 1863, succeeding Ezra Clark Jr. and preceding Henry C. Deming.

Biography[]

Dwight Loomis was born in Columbia, Connecticut on 27 July 1821, and he worked as a lawyer before serving in the State House as a Whig. He went on to serve as a Republican state senator before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1859 to 1863, after which he served as judge of the Superior Court of Connecticut from 1864 to 1875 and as a justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1875 to 1891.
