Dutee Jerauld Pearce (3 April 1789-9 May 1849) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-RI AL) from 4 March 1825 to 3 March 1837, succeeding Charles H. Page and preceding James M. Pendleton. Born on Prudence Island, he practiced law in Newport and served as Attorney General of Rhode Island from 1819 to 1825, as US district attorney from 1824 to 1825, in the state house, and in Congress. He participated in the Dorr Rebellion of 1842-1843, and he argued against including Black suffrage in a new constitution. He died in 1849.
