The Dunmurry train bombing occurred on 17 January 1980 when the IRA used an incendiary bomb to attack a train in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland, not far from Belfast. The attack killed 3 and injured 5, and the attack accidentally killed one IRA member and injured another. The Provisional IRA would later acknowledge the accident, saying that it was an accident caused by the "war situation" of The Troubles.
