
Duncan Duane Hunter (7 December 1976-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-CA 52) from 3 January 2009 to 3 January 2013, succeeding Duncan Hunter and preceding Scott Peters, and from CA 50 from 3 January 2013 to 13 January 2020, succeeding Brian Bilbray.
Biography[]
Duncan Duane Hunter was born in San Diego, California in 1976, the son of Congressman Duncan Hunter. He worked as an IT business analyst before serving in the US Marine Corps during the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War, entering the reserve in 2005 and reaching the rank of Major. In 2008, when his father sought the presidency, the younger Hunter was elected to succeed his father in the US House of Representatives. He became the first War on Terror veteran to serve in the US Congress, and he was an early supporter of Donald Trump. On 21 August 2018, along with his wife, he was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of wire fraud, violating campaign finance laws, and conspiracy. He resigned on 13 January 2020 and was sentenced to 11 months in prison on 17 March 2020.
