Drest

Drest (334-378) was King of the Picts from 363 to 378 AD. He reigned from Dal Raida, and he initially agreed to trade with the Romano-British and allowed the Saxon horde of Etelgis to settle in Northumberland. However, he secretly had the Romano-British king Meriadoc Britannicus assassinated in 366 AD, triggering a war with King Gorteyrn of Cornwall. In 378, Drest and his son and heir Ciniod were slain when the Romano-Britons conquered Dal Raida.
