
Doyle Lonnegan (born in 1890) was an Irish-American mobsters and banker from New York in the early 20th Century.
Biography[]
Doyle Lonnegan was born in New York City in 1890. Son of an Irish emigrant family, Lonnegan joined the Irish mob where he became more and more powerful. In 1936, one of Lonnegan's men was conned by three men from Joliet, Illinois. One of them Luther Coleman was killed by his goons. Johnny Hooker, another of the grifters escaped to Chicago where he met Henry Gondorff, a profesional who helped in taking down Lonnegan. Lonnegan was conned in a bet of horse, then Agent Polk from the FBI appered making him believe that the FBI kiled Gondorff after being betrayed by Hooker and being shot him back while Lonnegan himseff was present. Polk ordered the corrupt police agent William Snyder to get the ostensibly respectable Lonnegan away from the crime scene.
