Doris of Philippopolis (379 BC-) was a Macedonian spy in the service of Alexander the Great during the 4th century BC. She was recruited in the Thracian city of Philippopolis in 335 BC, as her knowledge of the Thracian language made her a valuable asset as Alexander sought to locate and stamp out the last Thracian rebels against his rule. Doris helped to scout out the city of Odessos (Odessa, Ukraine), where the rebel king Maisades II had holed up, enabling Alexander to take the city by storm. Afterwards, Doris was sent to Anatolia to spy on the Persian Empire in preparation for Alexander's grand campaign to conquer Persia.
