Doreios was a priest of Asclepius in Epidaurus, Greece during the 5th century BC.
Biography[]
Doreios was born in Epidaurus, Argolis, Greece, and he became a priest of Asclepius at the Sanctuary of Asclepius. He tended to the sacred snakes at their tholos, but, when the snakes escaped and travelled to the bathhouse due to its warmth, they inadvertently caused the death of a patient there. This led to fellow priest Pylenor hiring the mercenary Kassandra killing the snakes, to Pylenor's relief and to Doreios' dismay.
