Isaac Donald "Don" Everly (1 February 1937-21 August 2021) was an American country and rock musician and the brother of Phil Everly, with whom he formed "The Everly Brothers" band. He was born in Brownie, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky in 1937, the older brother of Phil, and the brothers were raised in Shenandoah, Iowa and Waterloo. The family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1953 and to Nashville in 1955, and it was there that they signed to RCA Victor and became a successful performing duo during the 1950s and 1960s. The brothers broke up in 1973, got back together in 1983, and performed together periodically until Phil's death in 2014. He died at his Nashville home in 2021 at the age of 84.
Don, unlike his brother, was a lifelong Democrat who supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Don supported her due to her foreign policy experience and her support for education, recalling his appreciation for his own education in Iowa.
