Dominic "Fat Dom" Gamiello (died November 2006) was a soldier of the Lupertazzi crime family in Phil Leotardo's crew. He was murdered by DiMeo crime family mobsters Silvio Dante and Carlo Gervasi for disrespecting the family and for calling Gervasi gay.

Biography[]

Dominic Gamiello was an overweight member of the Lupertazzi crime family who became a soldier in Phil Leotardo's crew. Gamiello was friends with DiMeo crime family consigliere Silvio Dante, asking him for gambling advice and collecting money for him. On November 16, 2006, he murdered Vito Spatafore in a Fort Lee, New Jersey hotel after Spatafore was outed as a homosexual, commenting to Leotardo that Spatafore was a disgrace to organized crime.

One afternoon, Gamiello visited Satriale's butcher shop to deliver some money to Dante while he was on his way to visit his daughter in Metuchen. He met with Dante and Carlo Gervasi in the back room, where he delivered some money and made jokes about Spatafore's death. He also passive-aggressively insulted Spatafore and the DiMeo family, saying that people from New Jersey were gay. When Gervasi appeared annoyed by Gamiello's humor, Gamiello said that Gervasi's "lipstick" was found on Spatafore's penis, leading to Dante hitting Gamiello in the back of the head with a vacuum cleaner and Dante and Gervasi beating him. Dante later restrained Gamiello and told Gervasi to hit him, but Gervasi instead stabbed Gamiello several times with a large knife, killing him. Tony Soprano and Dante were infuriated by Gamiello's death, which helped to spark a war between the Lupertazzis and DiMeos. His body was buried at a construction site, his car ditched along the side of a highway, and his head concealed in a Connecticut storm drain.
