Dominic "Butch" Blasi was a Chicago Outfit member. Blasi was a longtime associate and chauffeur of Don Sam Giancana, and he was aware of his affair with The McGuire Sisters singer Phyllis McGuire. In 1975, Don Tony Accardo sent Blasi to whack Giancana for refusing to quit this high-profile relationship. Blasi, who had the trust of Giancana, was allowed into his police-protected home in Oak Park, Illinois on the night of 19 June 1975, and Accardo made sausage and peppers for the two of them. When Blasi brought up Accardo's concerns about McGuire to Giancana, Giancana angrily insisted that she was his girl, and that he would not leave her. Blasi then excused himself from the table to get more wine, but he instead produced a silenced pistol and shot Giancana six times in the head and neck, killing him.
