Domenico Auditore (1296 - 1355) was a Venetian sailor who joined the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins under Dante Alighieri. After Alighieri's death, as well as the killings of Auditore's wife, father and patron, he purchased and renovated the building that would be known as Villa Auditore in Monteriggioni, founding the House of Auditore. He built the Auditore Family Crypt where he would later be laid after his death.
