Doge Orso of Venice (690-737) was the Doge of Venice from 726 to 737, preceding Doge Teodato of Venice.
Biography[]
Orso was born in 690 to the House of Orsoleo, a dynasty of Catholic Italians. Orso became the first recorded Doge of the Republic of Venice when he acceded to the office in 726, and he reigned for eleven years. He died at the age of forty-seven in 737, and his son became Doge Teodato of Venice.
