
Dmitri Danilovich Yusov (2 March 1907-8 December 1942) was a Soviet Red Army corporal and political commissar during World War II.
Biography[]
Dmitri Danilovich Yusov was born on 2 March 1907 in Yoshkar-Ola, central Russia, and he enlisted in the Red Army in 1926. Yusov became a card-carrying member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and he became a political officer (commissar) in the army. Yusov fought alongside the 13th Guards Rifle Division during the bloody Battle of Stalingrad, in which he was killed by the German Wehrmacht during the fighting for the train station.
