Dilawar Singh Babbar (died 31 August 1995) was a Babbar Khalsa member who assassinated Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in 1995 in a suicide bombing.
Biography[]
Dilawar Singh Babbar was a police constable in the Punjab region of India, but after it was reported that 25,000 Sikhs had been killed or disappeared under the rule of Chief Minister Beant Singh, Babbar and Balwant Singh Rajoana planned Singh's assassination. Babbar lost a coin toss and became the suicide bomber with Rajoana as the backup. On 31 August 1995, Babbar entered the secretariat complex in Chandigarh and killed Beant Singh in a suicide bombing.
