Dik Dute

Dik Dute (1588-) was a Dutch merchant ship captain who was active in the Caribbean during the mid-17th century. On 15 April 1640, while 13 weeks out of Curacao with his West Indiaman Magdalena, Dute was attacked by the English pirate Ossian Trewhella, who boarded and captured his ship; Dute surrendered rather than resist Trewhella's boarding action.
