
Komtur Dietrich von Schwarzenburg (1221-12) was a komtur of the Knights Teutonic Order. He was a promising commander and fair fighter who was both loyal and pious, and was one of Gunther the Chivalrous' top commanders.
Biography[]
Dietrich von Schwarzenburg was from the town of Schwarzenburg (Breisgau) in Baden-Wurttemburg, raised in a monastery, and he was the older brother of Hans von Schwarzenburg. Dietrich von Schwarzenburg was a faithful nobleman who was wealthy enough to get a commission in the Knights Teutonic, becoming a Komtur in the Marienburg region. In 1252 he captured Bialystok from the Polish Rebels, gaining experience.
