Dieter Weber (9 July 1971-) was a German operative that was part of Rainbow from 1999 to 2009. He transferred from the GSG-9 as a sniper unit, participating in several operations involving Rainbow.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Dieter Weber was born on July 9, 1971, in Munich, West Germany. His mother died during childbirth, and his father was an ironworker at a Munich factory. Weber learned English at a younger age, becoming more fluent in it than some native speakers. He also became a Taekwondoin, earning a black belt in the sport at 15.

Military and police career[]

Weber joined the German Army when he came of age, graduating from the notoriously difficult Gebirgsjäger school. After serving for a few years, he joined the Bundespolizei and was inducted into GSG-9. His marksmanship skills quickly became known, and Weber was known as the top sniper in the entire unit.

Rainbow career[]

After distinguishing himself in GSG-9, Weber was invited to join the newly formed multinational counter-terrorist unit Rainbow. He participated in many operations across the world until his return to the GSG-9 in 2009 in an administrative role.
