Dieter Spellmann

Dieter Spellmann (1887-1960) was a German police detective who worked for the Berlin Police during the Weimar era. Spellmann was born in Oranienburg, and he served as a local constable before serving in the Imperial German Army during World War I. After the war, Spellmann served in the Freikorps during the Greater Poland uprisings, and he joined the Berlin Police as a political police detective. Spellmann joined the DNVP in 1920 and the NSDAP in 1932, and he served in the Ordnungspolizei during World War II. He retired from the police in 1947 and became a CDU voter, dying in 1960.
