Diego Castillo Marquessa (2008-2021) was the son and heir apparent of Yaran dictator Anton Castillo, who killed him in a murder-suicide during the Yaran Revolution of 2021.
Biography[]
Diego Castillo Marquessa was born in Esperanza, Yara in 2008, the son of Yaran dictator Anton Castillo and Maria Marquessa. Marquessa secretly bore Castillo a son and heir after his leukemia diagnosis, and Anton raised Diego to follow in his footsteps as dictator of Yara after being elected President in 2019. His father taught him about violence from a young age, and, in 2021, Diego - disgusted with his father's cruelty - attempted to flee Yara with the help of a nanny. However, his Miami-bound refugee boat was intercepted by his father's navy, and Anton took his son back before having the refugees on board slaughtered. Anton continued to indoctrinate his son by having Julio Velez beaten to death in front of him and having his son shoot his cousin Jose Castillo in the lower back with a hunting gun to punish him for making a martyr out of Carlos Montero. Diego later defied his father by sneaking Viviro cancer medicine to an American reporter whose father was suffering from cancer. During the Movimiento Libertad's assault on the presidential palace, Diego attempted to persuade Libertad guerrilla Dani Rojas to spare his father due to his terminal illness, but Anton did not trust the rebels and fatally shot Diego before slitting his own throat.
