Richard "Dick" Shyster (1960-) is an American lawyer and one of the founders of the Goldberg, Ligner, and Shyster law firm in New York City.
Biography[]
Richard Shyster was born in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City in 1960 to a poor African-American family, and his family worked hard to put him through school. Shyster pursued a legal career at Harvard Law School after receiving a scholarship, and he became a international lawyer, helping Patrick Ligner and Tom Goldberg in founding the Goldberg, Ligner, and Shyster law firm. Shyster took over the law firm after Goldberg's murder in the GLS Building shootout of 2008, although he was accused of using cocaine in his office, a smear against his reputation.
