The Diablos was a Puerto Rican street gang that was active in Brooklyn, Liberty City, New York City during the 1970s to the 2000s. The Diablos were a small gang of street thugs led by El Burro, and they were mostly engaged in street violence and pornography, while having spats with the Uptown Yardies and suffering heavy losses in wars with the Leone crime family and the Kasen Yakuza. In 1998, the Sicilian Mafia manipulated the Diablos to attack the Leone crime family, but Toni Cipriani defended Brownsville from a major Diablos attack. Over the next few years, however, the Diablos took control of Brownsville from the Mafia. By 2001, they could also be found in Williamsburg, Washington Heights, and near the Boonton Reservoir. By the late 2000s, the Diablos had been eclipsed by the larger Spanish Lords gang.
