Desperados were, in the context of the Wild West, were outlaws of the American West who were willing to do anything to escape justice; they were known for their recklessness and their willingness to engage themselves in risk or danger. In the Mexican context, the desperados of the Wild West tended to be pistol-wielding Mexican gunslingers.
