Harrington was then beaten by Hopkins again, forced to relinquish his brief loyalty to Smith. After he graduated, Harrington went to Harvard Law School, eventually using his father's money and his manipulative charisma to win New Hampshire's senatorial seat.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Derby Maxwell Harrington was born to James Harrington in 1989 in Bullworth, New Hampshire, being descended from nobility in England. His father is the proprietor of Harrington Oil, which elevated his family to high society. He was betrothed to his cousin Pinky Gauthier, as his father was insistent on keeping the bloodline pure, compensating for the fact that brother-sister relationships were illegal. In 2004, Derby began attending Bullworth Academy, being given preferential treatment by faculty due to his father being a key donator to the Academy. He became the leader of the wealthy clique in the school, dubbed the Preppies. Harrington also took up boxing at this time, mainly for self-defense.
2006-7 school year[]
In the fall of 2006, Harrington witnessed transfer student Jimmy Hopkins' fight with bully Russell Northrop organized by Gary Smith in the Hole underneath the Main Building, in which Hopkins won. Later that fall, the Preppies were challenged by Hopkins at the GlassJaw Boxing Club, in which he defeated preppies Chad Morris, Justin Vandervale, and Parker Ogilvie in three separate boxing matches in one day, earning him the clubhouse at the lighthouse on the beach. Hopkins later intercepted his betrothed Pinky Gauthier before he could show up, Harrington being three minutes late. This resulted in Gauthier abandoning the betrothal to go on a date with Hopkins instead. Later, Hopkins challenged boxing champion Bif Taylor to a boxing match in which, despite the severe weight class difference, Hopkins won.
Harrington, furious, berated Taylor and riled his fellow Preppies to go fight Hopkins. He then ran off to get a drink while his friends held Hopkins off. Hopkins fought through all of them to confront Harrington, proceeding to beat him down and refer to Hopkins as the boss.
In winter, Harrington later confronted Hopkins after Johnny Vincent's greaser gang accosted Gord Vendome for dating Lola Lombardi while Vincent wasn't looking, manipulating him to spray tag greaser territory in the New Coventry neighborhood; this made the greasers hostile to Hopkins for a time. In spring, after Hopkins submitted Bullworth Bullhorns quarterback Ted Thompson, Harrington suggested that Hopkins spray tag Town Hall; this would later result in Hopkins' expulsion. Later, when the trophies in the Glassjaw Boxing Club were stolen and burned by the dropout gang known as the Townies, Harrington refused to accept any other culprit than the Greasers, even when given photographic evidence. Having been manipulated by Gary Smith, the Preppies engaged in the rioting at Bullworth Academy. Harrington fought Hopkins at the Harrington House, being knocked out. He later showed up to Hopkins' re-enrollment celebration, begrudgingly clapping.
Later life[]
Harrington graduated a year afterward, enrolling into Harvard. He later graduated summa cum laude, working as a lawyer before being elected to a senatorial seat in New Hampshire. After his election, several things were dug up about his childhood at Bullworth, dropping his popularity down drastically.
