
Dennis Smelt (23 November 1763 – 22 October 1818) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-GA) from 1 September 1806 to 3 March 1811, succeeding Joseph Bryan and preceding Bolling Hall.

Dennis Smelt was born in Essex County, Virginia in 1763, and he settled in Augusta, Georgia in 1789. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1806 to 1811, and he died in 1818.
