The Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC) was a Catalan nationalist and liberal party in Catalonia, Spain. The party was founded in the wake of the Spanish transition to democracy, and the party allied with the Christian democratic Democratic Union of Catalonia; from the 1980s to the early 2000s, the alliance dominated Catalan politics. In 2015, the two parties split, but the CDC remained the largest party in Catalonia, having over 60,000 members. In 2016, the party renamed itself the "Catalan European Democratic Party" to disassociate itself from its corrupt past.
