Deir ez-Zor Governorate

Deir ez-Zor Governorate is one of the fourteen governorates of Syria, located along the Euphrates River in the east of the country. In 2010, the governorate had a population of 1,202,000 people, with most of them being Sunni Arab tribesmen; the capital is Deir ez-Zor.
