
Dawit I of Semien (834-889) was the Duke of Semien from 857 to 889, succeeding Gideon II of Semien and preceding Gideon III of Semien.
Biography[]
Dawit was born in 834 to the Ethiopian Jewish House of David, and he was the son of Gideon II of Semien. Dawit became the new Duke of Semien upon his father's death in 857, and he reigned until 889, when his son Gideon III of Semien succeeded him.
