David de Robeck () was a general of the Cape Colony, commanding the South African 1st Army.
Biography[]
David de Robeck was born in Cape Town, Cape Colony (present-day South Africa). Robeck was of Dutch-Boer descent, and he was of the highest caste in Cape Colony, being a European. Robeck was given command of the 12,000-strong South African 1st Army as of 19 November 1882, and he was later posted to the border with Oranje and the Zulu.
