David Yang

David Yang (1972-11 September 2001) was a worker for Goldman Sachs from China who died in 9/11.

Biography[]

David Yang was born in 1972 in Changsha, China to a middle-class family. He worked as a bonds salesman in Shanghai before he met with a Goldman Sachs representative and hired into the company in America. Yang headed to New York City and worked at the Goldman Sachs office in the World Trade Center, and he was in his office on the 101st floor of the South Tower when the 9/11 attacks occurred, starting at 8:46 AM. Yang met with Audrey Abramowicz and a male coworker in his office when Hans Muhler told them to return to their offices and wait for help, and Yang called his wife and told her that he was going to die. He bade her farewell, and he let Abramowicz use his phone to call her mother before the crash of another plane brought down the signal. Yang decided that he was going to jump from the building rather than suffocate on smoke, and he jumped out of the window to his death, knowing that no help would arrive.
