Biography[]
David Vitter was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1961, and he worked as a lawyer and as an adjunct law professor before serving in the State House from 1992 to 1999 (Klan grand wizard David Duke was his predecessor). From 1999 to 2005, he served in the US House of Representatives, and he was elected to the US Senate in 2004, the first Republican senator from his state since Reconstruction. In 2015, he attempted to run for Governor of Louisiana, winning the Republican nomination but losing the general election to Democratic challenger John Bel Edwards. After conceding defeat for Edwards, Vitter decided to retire from the Senate, and he became a Tea Party lobbyist.
