David Redick

David Redick (5 July 1753 – 28 September 1805) was Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 14 October to 5 November 1788, succeeding Peter Muhlenberg and preceding George Ross.

Biography[]

David Redick was born in Galway, Ireland in 1753, and he emigrated to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1765 and served in the Georgia militia during the American Revolutionary War. He became a lawyer in 1782, and he served in the state senate before briefly serving as Lieutenant Governor in 1788. Redick and William Findley presented the surrender of the Whiskey Rebellion to President George Washington in October 1794, and he died in 1805.
