David Rasmussen (1956-) was the House Majority Leader of the United States from 2012 to 2013, preceding Terry Womack.
Biography[]
David Rasmussen was born in 1956, and in the 2012 congressional election he was named the House Majority Leader for the US Democratic Party after years of being a member of US Congress. Majority Whip Frank Underwood offered him the title of Speaker of the House if he would help him in overthrowing Bob Birch, but Rasmussen refused; in return, Underwood decided to work with Birch against Rasmussen. After gaining enough support to overthrow Birch, he pressured Birch into making Minority Whip Terry Womack the new House Majority Leader (and the first black one) as well as supporting the bill. Rasmussen was forced to resign, with Womack replacing him.
