
David Popescu (25 May 1886-1955) was a Lieutenant General of Romania who served as Minister of Internal Affairs under Ion Gigurtu and later Ion Antonescu's regime.
Biography[]
David Popescu was born on 25 May 1886, and he graduated from the Turin War School in Italy.
Popescu was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel in 1925, and by 1941 he was commander of the Romanian 11th Infantry Division as Minister of Internal Affairs under Ion Gigurtu's government.
He was arrested in 1950 by the communist government of Romania, being held until 1953. He died in 1955.
