David Penrose Buckson (25 July 1920-17 January 2017) was the Republican Governor of Delaware from 30 December 1960 to 17 January 1961, succeeding J. Caleb Boggs and preceding Elbert N. Carvel.

Biography[]

David Penrose Buckson was born in Townsend, Delaware in 1920, and he served in the US Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He served as a judge from 1955 to 1957, as Lieutenant Governor from 1957 to 1960, and as Governor from 1960 to 1961 on J. Caleb Boggs' ascension to the US Senate. He died in Milford in 2017.
