David McLeod (died 21 November 1920) was a Royal Irish Constabulary captain during the Irish War of Independence. He worked in conjunction with Dublin Castle chief Ormonde Winter to hunt down IRA leaders such as Michael Collins, leading raids whenever Winter gained a lead from his spies in the IRA. McLeod was cruel, shooting the innocent Simon Prendergast after framing him for the murder of British accountant Albert Saunders. During Bloody Sunday (21 November 1920), McLeod was targeted by an IRA hit squad, with Joey Bradley entering his house and confronting him at his breakfast table. He forced him to reveal IRA leader Frank Brogan's status as an informer after threatening to kill his wife, and Bradley reneged on his promise by killing McLeod's wife and then shooting McLeod twice, killing him.
