David Miller De Witt (25 November 1837-23 June 1912) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 14) from 4 March 1873 to 3 March 1875, succeeding Eli Perry and preceding George M. Beebe.
Biography[]
David Miller De Witt was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1837, and he moved to New York City in 1845 with his parents, who settled in Brooklyn. He became a lawyer in Kingston in 1858, served as Ulster County district attorney from 1863 to 1870, in the US House of Representatives from 1873 to 1875, in the State Assembly in 1883, and as county surrogate from 1885 to 1886.
