David Gerard O'Connell (16 August 1953 – 18 February 2023) was the Roman Catholic Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles from 8 September 2015 until his murder in 18 February 2023.
Biography[]
David Gerard O'Connell was born in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland in 1953, and he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1979 and became an associate pastor at churches in California before Pope Francis named him Bishop of Cell Ausaille and Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles in 2015. He was murdered at his home in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles in 2023.
