David Frost (7 April 1939 – 31 August 2013) was an English television host, media personality, journalist, comedian, and writer. He was most famous for his 1977 interviews with former President of the United States Richard Nixon, during which Nixon finally apologized for the Watergate scandal.
Biography[]
David Frost was born in Tenterden, Kent, England on 7 April 1939, and he graduated from Cambridge University. He first rose to prominence in the United Kingdom when he was chosen to host That Was the Week That Was in 1962, and he became a host on US television. He became known for his interviews with senior political figures, among them with the former President of the United States, Richard Nixon, in 1977. In 1983, he was one of those responsible for launching the ITV breakfast station TV-am. From 1993 to 2005, he hosted Breakfast with Frost on BBC, and he also spent two decades as host of Through the Keyhole. He died aboard the cruise ship MS Queen Elizabeth on 31 August 2013 at the age of 74 after being engaged as a speaker.
