David Dunn ME

David Dunn (17 January 1811-17 February 1894) was the Democratic Governor of Maine from 1 to 3 January 1844, succeeding Edward Kavanagh and preceding Hugh J. Anderson.

Biography[]

David Dunn was born in Cornish, Maine in 1811, and he became a lawyer in Poland in 1833. He served in the State House from 1840 to 1844, as acting governor in 1844, in the State Senate from 1845 to 1846, and as a postal clerk in Washington DC from 1857 to 1861. He died in 1894.
