David Cobb (14 September 1748 – 17 April 1830) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-MA) from 4 March 1793 to 3 March 1795 and as Lieutenant-Governor of Massachusetts from 1809 to 1810 (succeeding Levin Lincoln Sr. and preceding William Gray.
Biography[]
David Cobb was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1748, and he served as a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Continental Army and as an aide-de-camp to George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. From 1784 to 1796, he served as a judge on the Bristol County Court of Common Pleas, and he served in the State House from 1789 to 1793 and in the US House of Representatives from 1793 to 1795. From 1809 to 1810, he served as Lieutenant-Governor of Massachusetts, and he died in Taunton in 1830.
