
David Barton (14 December 1783 – 28 September 1837) was a US Senator from Missouri (DR) from 10 August 1821 to 4 March 1831, preceding Alexander Buckner.
Biography[]
David Barton was born in Greenville, North Carolina (now in Tennessee) in 1783, and he moved to St. Louis in 1809. He was involved with local politics before becoming one of Missouri's inaugural US Senators in 1821, serving for ten years as a Democratic-Republican. He served in the State Senate from 1834 to 1835, and he died in 1837.
